Mondial Assistance UK teams up with local charity to launch internet workshops with the elderly

Here Mondial Assistance UK we have teamed up with the leading local charity Age UK Croydon and local social responsibility charity Croydon Commitment to launch a series of internet workshops for the elderly. Our staff have volunteered their time to help local residents get to grips with basic internet skills and brush up on their computer knowledge.

The sessions take place in a very relaxed and informal atmosphere where the volunteers work with each resident on their specific needs and areas of interest, in order to help them to make use of the internet in their day to day lives. Activities can range from simple Google searches to looking up train times, to sending emails to friends and family and even ordering shopping online.

These internet workshops are a fantastic way for our employees to be able to make a difference in our community. We are always keen to get involved with various local events and it is a great pleasure to be working alongside Age UK Croydon and Croydon Commitment in this innovative project. By giving just a few hours of their time, our staff are providing an invaluable service and making a real difference to the lives of our elderly neighbours.

We regularly take part in various events to engage with the local community and businesses. This includes sponsorship of the Croydon Charity Ball set to take place on the 15th May 2012.

One of our main aims at Mondial is to give something back to our local community and we all really enjoy these type of activities where we get to meet lots of different people.  We want to say a big thank you to Age UK Croydon and Croydon Commitment for helping us to set up the workshops and also to Croydon College for donating one of their IT suites. We hope that the next workshops prove to be just as successful.
