At Mondial Assistance UK we jumped into the Christmas spirit again this year, with employees from around the whole company spreading festive joy by taking part in our annual One More Gift campaign. This year the proceeds went to St Giles School in Croydon.
St Giles School is a specialist school for pupils with physical disabilities and complex medical needs, aged 4 - 16. They also accommodate students with profound and multiple learning disabilities up to the age of 19. Over 100 students come from a vast catchment area which includes Croydon, Sutton, Surrey and Wandsworth.
We asked everyone in the office to buy an extra gift this Christmas so that they could be wrapped and then given to the children at St Giles School as a special festive treat. Those of us visiting the school to hand out gifts also had the pleasure of watching the school’s nativity play.
As well as giving an extra gift, some people took part in other festive activities to raise money for St Giles School, with the proceeds going towards buying new equipment for the school’s sensory pathway, which was designed by pupils. The Christmas party raffle kicked off the fundraising whilst a special December Dress Down Day saw the Executive Board serve tea, coffee and mince pies to all Croydon based employees. To top it all off, the Mondial Christmas Choir spread some Christmas cheer throughout the community by singing carols outside of the Croydon Visitor Centre. In total, an amazing £1433.68 was raised.
